Issue: Student iPads not charging or maintaining a charge.

Explanation:  Towards the end of the 2017-2018 school year we started to receive many support tickets relating to charging of student iPads.  We found some of our brand new iPads were experiencing battery issues.  This is the result of students using cell phone chargers or non apple certified chargers to charge the iPads.

Cell phone chargers are typically 5w whereas an iPad charger is 12 w.  Using the wrong charger will not provide a full charge to the device.  This can damage the battery.  Additionally, using a non Apple Certified charger can cause the prongs in the charging port to become bent or damaged, as well as to damage the battery by not properly regulating the amount of charge going through to the battery.

Solution: Always use an Apple certified charger to charge your device.  This includes the brick and the lightening cable.  This does not mean it has to be an Apple charger, but it must contain the logo below.  If you need to purchase one, we have them on sale through our online store.
